"Dilute phase" pneumatic conveying allows the handling of powdery and granular products over a varying distance using low pressure compressed air (< 1 bar). The product is transported continuously. The product is introduced into the pipe (circuit) by an airlock rotary valve via an injector element or directly (airlock transverse valve). Compressed air is produced by a Blower. There are two principles of dilute phase pneumatic transport: Positive pressure system (blowing); Negative pressure system (suction) The choice between these two principles depends on the physical characteristics of the products and the desired flow rates.
Vacuum packing consists of removing the air from a package to protect and preserve its contents: food, household and industrial products, etc. Particularly effective for food preservation, Vacuum technology is now also used in the restaurant industry for certain types of cooking. With flexible packaging shapes, it allows the volume of the contents and packaging to be reduced.
Vacuum evaporation is a thin-film (usually metallic) deposition technique used in microelectronics manufacturing. The material to be deposited is evaporated in a Vacuum in a hermetically sealed enclosure, the Vacuum allowing the particles to reach the substrate directly where they recondense in a solid state.
Distillation is commonly used to separate the components of a liquid mixture. As the liquid components have different boiling points, they evaporate under different operating conditions. And can be removed and recovered successively.
a Vacuum is used to remove non-edible parts from poultry, and Vacuum solutions separate waste and require no manual intervention by an operator, contributing to safer and more hygienic working conditions. In addition, our Vacuum systems allow operators to increase productivity and reduce energy consumption with little or no pollution.
Vacuum is very important in glass manufacturing: it optimises the glass moulding process, improves the quality of packaging glass and increases the production speed of IS machines. In glass factories, pumps alone do not cover the entire requirement. They are normally combined with dedicated accessories such as tanks and separators to prevent mould lubricant from entering the pumps. Our solutions with Pneumofore pumps, driven by frequency converters, allow the pump performance to be adapted to the process requirements. As they are air-cooled, there is no need for cooling water circuits. UV pumps are "plug and play" and require minimal work for installation and start-up.
The manufacture of a semiconductor device is a complex process, involving many steps in a Vacuum. The deposition process is part of it and consists in depositing a material on the wafer thanks to several technologies: PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition), PECVD (Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapour Deposition), etc. Each technology requires a different level of Vacuum. We supply advanced and customised Vacuum systems generally consisting of two-stage rotary vane pumps, piston pumps and boosters.

Vacuum application and maintaining Vacuum in condensers
Operating principle and use
The function of the Vacuum is, in the first instance, to produce the initial Vacuum in the condenser to a predefined level before the turbine is started within a defined maximum time and, in the second instance, to extract the non-condensable gases, thus maintaining the desired Vacuum in the condenser. Since high suction capacities are often required and non-condensable gases are saturated with water vapour, liquid ring pumps are the main technology used for this application. Systems designed and manufactured by GEFI are in operation on all continents around the world.
Vacuum impregnation is a process that uses Vacuum to remove as much air as possible from a structure and then replaces it with a resin (or other impregnating solution) that will fill all the cavities. The resin is used in particular to provide electrical insulation between the conductor coils. Vacuum insulation equipment is also used in the materials industry to improve the performance of materials or enhance their aesthetic characteristics.

These systems work in conjunction with centrifugal pumps to transport water (or other liquid) from point A to point B. Centrifugal pumps, although effective in pumping liquid, are unable to pump air. This means that when the pumps are taken offline for maintenance or other reasons, they must be refilled with liquid before they work properly. And that's where the Vacuum priming system comes in, which is used to draw water into the pump so that it can start.
In order to improve the quality of the final product, gases, vapours and moisture are extracted from the processed material under Vacuum.
One example is the degassing of plastics during the extrusion process: moisture in the form of vapour and gases caused during the melting process are extracted directly from the screw area of the extruder, which considerably improves the structure and physical properties of the product.
Vacuum lifters are used for gripping parts of all capacities, whether they are made of PVC, steel or concrete. Vacuum lifting is fast and safe, thanks to a suction cup system that supports both heavy loads and fragile materials. The technique of handling by suction cup consists of creating a Vacuum in the space between the suction cup and the product. Reducing this pressure creates a suction force capable of lifting 10 tonnes for every 1 m2 of surface covered by the suction cup. Thanks to this physical phenomenon, handling with suction cups allows effortless, quick and safe handling of large or complex objects.
